Hospice plan coverage and payment information

One of the biggest questions we get asked is if hospice is covered by insurance.

More often than not the answer is yes. The majority of our patients at Doctor's Hospice of Idaho are over age 65 and qualify for Medicare coverage. Medicare (Medicare Hospice Benefit), Medicaid, Veteran’s Administration, private insurance carriers, many HMOs most other insurance carriers provide:
 

• 100% coverage with no deductible and no co-pay

• Full coverage of medications related to the terminal illness

• Usual and customary medical supplies are also covered
   

Hospice Benefit Periods include:
 

• The initial 90 days

• The subsequent 90 days

• Extra 60 day extensions (unlimited)
  
   

Private payments are also accepted.
